Strange Times This Autumn 2020
A Message from Cllr Sir Steve Houghton CBE
This message is not one that I ever wanted to share, but we're now in a position where Barnsley, along with our other South Yorkshire councils, has been placed in the government's high covid alert level due to our rising Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection rates.
It is the sense of community that unites us, makes us feel as though we are a part of something greater. It provides opportunities to connect with others, to reach for common goals, and makes us feel safe and secure. It is important for everyone to have that sense of community. If you know of any one that may need a little help remember to check in on them through phone calls, texts, or at a distance through the window. A little kindness can go a long way.
Lets not forget Coronavirus (COVID-19) is still hanging around in our communities. Don't be fooled by the actions of others into thinking that it's gone away. It hasn't nor will it until they find a vaccine. We still need to be careful, we need to use common sense and follow the guidance:
